Hello everyone! Today we are gonna talk about the best farmable free spirit units on OPTC Global.
Nowadays, and with the increasing difficulty on new content, it's always good to have a hand full of units that can help you to get through the most recent challenges. Free spirit is knowned as one of the best farmable classes on the game, and has always helped players that can't rely on a legend or a rare recruit getting the new units from recent content.
Remember that this is just my opinion and if you have a different vision on this matter feel free to comment your thoughts in the box below.
We will go through the units that i think are the best f2p free spirit available right now and I believe that with these units you can build really powerfull crews. Note that i will only show units that help directly free spirit teams, for example Raid Aokiji is a very good unit and is free spirit but he fits a lot better in a striker based team.

#10. Alvida (Colosseum)

Captain Ability: Boosts ATK of QCK units by 2x and reduces damage by 10%
Special: Deals 13x unit's attack in QCK damage to one enemy. Boosts orb effects by 1.5x and reduces damage by 75% for 1 turn. (23 -» 14 turns)
Overview: The first unit of this list is Alvida from the colosseum challenge. In general her stats and captain ability are bad and don't provide much value to your box.
The reason she makes this list is her special ability. She provides a decent amount of orb boosting and damage reduction at the same time. It's not very flashy but it's pretty good for when you need to deal a lot of damage and take a big hit afterwards (like when a enemy revives). She's not a mandatory unit in your box but in my opinion she deverses a spot.
#9. Giolla (Fortnight)
STR | Shooter, Free Spirit
HP: 2040

Captain Ability: Boosts ATK of all units by 1.2x. After 4 perfects in a row boosts by a further 2.5x.
Special: Reduces incoming damage by 90%. Randomly shuffles all orbs (even Block) into STR, DEX and QCK orbs. (20 -» 14 turns)
Overview: Much like Alvida this unit doens't had much value in terms of stats or captain ability, but levels that with 4 slots and a pretty good special. With a 14 turn cooldown her special reduces damage by an amazing 90%, and at the same time shuffles all orbs into STR, DEX and QCK. This last part can be a little annoying because the shuffle includes your matching orbs but at the same time gets you rid of Block orbs what can be very handy. She's one of the best damage reducers for Free Spirits and deserves a place in your box.
#8. Ace

Captain Ability: Boosts ATK of Free Spirits by 2.25x
Special: Deals 13x unit attack in INT damage for all enemies and boosts attack of Free Spirit units by 1.75x for 1 turn. (17 turns)
Overview: Luffy's older brother grabs the 8 spot on this list. His stats are not very good and he only has 2 slots, the captain ability is decent for early content but easily surpassed by other units. In terms of special the picture changes a lot because he deals damage to all enemies (always useful) and provides a 1.75x attack boost without any condition or disadvantage. The bad part is that the cooldown is pretty high for today standards, but if nontheless he is a solid attack booster for Free Spirit teams.
#7. Apoo (Colosseum)

Captain Ability: Boosts ATK of Free Spirit units by 3x after a chain of Good-» Great-» Perfect hits
Special: Boosts ATK of Shooters and Free Spirit by 1.75x for 1 turn. Increases damage received by 2x and reduces RCV by 90% for 2 turns. (22-»10 turns)
Overview: The captain of the On Air Pirates grabs the number 7 on this list with a lot of groove. His stats are not very good but 3 slots is not bad. The captain ability gives a 3x boost but it's not very used because of the Good -» Great -» Perfect hit mechanic, he can be paired up with Log Luffy or Raid Sabo friend captain. The special is the best feature of this unit providing a 1.75x attack boost (but be careful because it also increases damage received) with a short cooldown of 10 turns, allowing you to use it multiple times in the challenges like training forests. One of the best F2P Free Spirit boosters (or even the best) so he is a no-brainer.
#6. Luffy 5+
STR | Fighter, Free Spirit

Captain Ability: Boosts the ATK of all units by 2.25x (after 4 perfects in a row boosts by 2.81x) and HP by 1.25x
Special: Deals 40x his attack in STR damage to all enemies and delays all enemies by 1 turn (23-» 16 turns)
Overview: Luffy is the men in terms of captain ability, a decent flat 2.25x boost that transforms into 2.81 after 4 perfects in a row and along with this boost he provides a 1.25x HP boost, very nice and useful. The special has some usage but with the current meta is "unusable" a lot of times because of the delay protections, nontheless the damage is good for dealing with mobs. His stats are good and the attack is crazy high for a unit that basicaly is "offered" at the begining at the game. He is very good has a captain and pretty much not used as a sub but in summary he belongs in every box.
#5. Kanjuro (Colosseum)

Captain Ability: Boosts ATK of Striker and Free Spirit units by 2.25x and reduces damage received by 10%
Special: For Strikers and Free Spirits changes type orbs (STR, QCK, DEX, PSY and INT) into matching orbs and changes TND, RCV, Empty, Bomb and G orbs into badly matching orbs. (27-»15 turns)
Overview: The Picasso of the One Piece world takes the number 5 spot. His captain ability provides a 2.25x boost (nothing to flashy, surpassed by other units on the list) and reduces incoming damage by 10%, not bad not good, it's usable and has nice synergy with a TS Luffy friend captain. His stats are average but the 5 slots definitely adds a lot of value to this unit. The special is quite good allowing you to get a full board of matching orbs (under certain conditions). If you pair him up with, for example Giolla, you get full matching orbs and a 90% damage reduction, not bad for these two "artists". Conclusion: another unit with a lot of value for your Free Spirit squad.
#4. Kinemon (Colosseum)
STR | Slasher, Free Spirit
HP: 2075

Captain Ability: Boosts ATK of Free Spirit units by 2.5x and recovers 2x his RCV at the end of the turn
Special: Reduces special cooldown of Slasher and Free Spirit units by 1 turn and if HP is above 70% changes adjacent orbs into matching orbs. (16-» 5 turns)
Overview: A well deserved spot for this awesome samurai that is capable of cutting fire and create a new outfit in a blink of an eye, the complete package if you ask me.
Besides being a fan-favorite unit he is very complete and versatile and you can use him for speed runs, colosseum or raids (works well with TS Luffy) or even training forests. The captain ability is solid and provides a 2.5x boost and a decent amount of healing (642 with base RCV). The special is king for speed runs with a 5 tun CD, allowing you to reduce CD's of other units and, if the HP is high, gives you 3 matching orbs. To make this unit even better his base stats are pretty good for a F2P unit and has 5 "easy to fill" socket slots. A mandatory unit in your box.
#3. Boa Hancock (Raid Boss)
PSY | Shooter, Free Spirit

Captain Ability: Doubles the Attack and HP of Free Spirit units
Special: Locks the chain multiplier for 2 turns and delay enemies for 1 turn. (28 -» 14 turns)
Overview: We arrive at number 3 with the Kuja Pirate captain, Empress Boa Hancock. She gets the podium with a well balanced mix of good stats, decent captain ability and a great special. And all of this for "free", very nice.
The overall stats are above average and the captain ability as some utility for high HP teams. Pair her up with a friend captain that has a high attack boost (like TS Luffy or Luffy 5+) and you will have a Free Spirit team with a nice combo of decent damage output and high HP.
The special is the best she as to offer (insert Frank pervert face here), and besides the always useful delay, puts the chain multiplier at 2.5x increasing a lot the damage dealt to enemies. She is a must have unit on your Free Spirit squad.
#2. Sabo (Raid Boss)
DEX | Free Spirit, Fighter

Captain Ability: Boosts ATK of Free Spirit characters by 3.5x following a chain of Good > Great > Perfect hits
Special: Deals random typeless damage to all enemies. Each unit gains 55x Sabo's ATK (55x1325) as additional typeless damage for 2 turns (30 -» 14 turns)
Overview: Well, we all know how awesome this unit is, just pure gold and he completely deserves his spot on this list. (But in the worst case scenario if you never heard of him take a look at this guide to farm it asap)
Sabo is one of the best F2P units available in all OPTC and he is one of the pretty boys of the Free Spirit Class. The stats are pretty good, the 3 slots are average but it gets better because he has Neo Version (basicaly a remake of some raid bosses, where some features are changed and you have to beat a new challenge to farm this "new" unit) giving you the oportunity of having a PSY Raid Boss Sabo.
The captain ability doens't have great use nowadays but with a 6+ Log Luffy (or even some new unit) he could see a comeback in terms of usage as captain.
The special is incredible allowing you to deal high amounts of damage without having matching orbs, attack boosts or chain lockers. Just pop up the special, attack and you are good to go (you can read a more complete explanation on the guide linked above). Concluding, Sabo is a mandatory unit to have in your Free Spirit roster.

Captain Ability: Boosts attack of Cerebral units by 2.5x and increases the rate of matching orbs
Special: Reduces Paralyzes by 3 turns. Boosts orb effect by 2x and treats TND and RCV as matching orbs to Free Spirit and Cerebral units for 1 turn. (27 -» 15 turns)
Overview: Here we are, the best of the best. This invasion unit is very hard to get but it is simply amazing, totally worth it of all the trouble. The stats are well above average for a F2P unit and despite of just having 3 slots it makes up with one of the best attack stat between Free Spirit characters. Nothing much to say about the captain ability because doesn't fit the Free Spirit cause but it's quite nice if you need a Cerebral captain. And now the number 1 reason why Akagami is on the top of this list, his freaking special: a 2x orb boost for Free Spirit and Cerebral, what makes him the best Free Spirit orb booster in the entire game!
But that's not all, along with this boost he also reduces paralysis effect by 3 turns (which is pretty useful giving the fact we see this feature a lot in the present meta) and to top it off makes TND and RCV counting as matching orbs for 1 turn.
Summarizing, an insane orb boost along with some matching orbs and a paralysis effect reducer, just outstanding. As a certain Asian Guy says: "Bellissimo"!
